Astra Tech to announces 2012 world congress plans

12th January 2012

Astra Tech has announced plans to hold its 2012 Astra Tech World Congress in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The destination for the three-day conference has been chosen due to the fact it is the original home of Astra Tech and the place where the technique of osseointegration was developed, reports Dentistry.co.uk.

Taking place between May 9th and 12th 2012, it will feature a scientific programme that includes more than 100 internationally renowned lecturers, as well as new product demonstrations and workshops.

Astra Tech president and chief executive officer Peter Selley said the World Congress, which is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees, will be the perfect way to mark the 25th anniversary of the company's entry into the implant dentistry market.

"Now the time has come to welcome our customers and the global dental community to us in Gothenburg," he said.

Astra Tech is now operating under the ownership of Dentsply, having been purchased from AstraZeneca last year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801263294-ADNFCR
