Aurora publishes July news analysis

6th August 2009

Aurora has published its analysis of news in the health communications sector for the month of July, including its top 20 most-covered topics.

Swine flu remained at the top of the company’s ranking for the third consecutive month, while alcohol abuse and legislation moved up from eighth position in June to second place.

Meanwhile, cancer dropped one spot to stand at number three, heart disease rose to fourth place from eleventh and nutrition fell two positions to round off the top five most-covered topics.

Commenting on the ranking, Aurora said that readers could be forgiven for thinking that there were no other health stories, as the swine flu pandemic has continued to dominate the headlines.

"There has, however, been some moving and shaking although interestingly, just like last month, there are no new entries, only re-entries to keep the chart flowing," the company added.

Issues that have re-entered the top 20 ranking include dementia, embryo research and obesity.ADNFCR-2598-ID-19301239-ADNFCR
