Bausch and Lomb agrees distribution deal for PhysIOL products

3rd May 2013

Bausch and Lomb has agreed to distribute a range of trifocal diffractive and toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) from PhysIOL in a number of selected markets.

The agreement covers the FineVision trifocal and FineVision trifocal toric hydrophilic, UV and blue-blocking aspheric IOLs in several European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets, as well as Ankoris toric lenses on an exclusive or co-exclusive basis, depending on the region.

Following this deal, Bausch and Lomb will be able to expand its ophthalmic surgery portfolio, complementing existing brand offerings such as enVista, Crystalens and Akreos.

John Barr, executive vice-president and president at Bausch and Lomb Global Surgical, said: "We are excited to provide ophthalmic surgeons with a greater choice when selecting an intraocular lens best suited for their patient's needs and look forward to broadening the reach of PhysIOL's products."

This comes after Bausch and Lomb agreed to distribute ophthalmic surgical microscopes and accessories on behalf of Leica Microsystems in Europe, the US, India and Latin America last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801581474-ADNFCR
