Bausch and Lomb announces additions to board of directors

28th September 2009

Bausch and Lomb has revealed that its board of directors will be enhanced with the appointment of two new individuals.

The global eye care firm has recruited Kerry Clark and Robert Palmisano, the former having retired as chief executive of Cardinal Health earlier this month.

Mr Clark spent more than 30 years at Procter and Gamble, where he last served as vice-chairman of the board and is currently also director of Textron, General Mills and Hauser Capital Partners.

His new colleague, Mr Palmisano, is the president, chief executive and director of ev3 and was previously the head of vision correction company IntraLase and holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College.

Gerald Ostrov, chairman and chief executive officer of Bausch and Lomb, said: “Choices like these help us become better positioned for long-term growth. We welcome Kerry and Bob and look forward to benefiting from their unique backgrounds and expertise.”

This announcement follows the news that Bausch and Lomb’s vision-correcting product Crystalens will feature in direct-to-consumer advertisements aimed at senior citizens and the baby boomer generation.
