Bausch and Lomb appoints new commercial leader for Europe
Bausch and Lomb has appointed former Novartis and Lilly employee Charl van Zyl as its new corporate vice-president and commercial leader for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The company has promoted Mr van Zyl from the role of vice-president for EMEA pharmaceuticals in order to lead its cross-functional multi-market operations team in the region.
Prior to joining Bausch and Lomb in 2009, Mr van Zyl was chief executive officer for Jado Technologies and has occupied various roles with responsibilities spanning numerous territories over the course of his career.
Brent Saunders, chief executive officer at Bausch and Lomb, said the new commercial leader will be tasked with building customer-centric teams for its vision care, pharmaceuticals and surgical business units.
He added: "Charl is a strong, strategic leader with a proven ability to drive executional excellence."
This comes after the company announced last month that it has appointed Anthony Sine, Elisabeth Sandoval and Brad Paddock to various roles in its surgical business management team.
