Bausch and Lomb launches new vitreoretinal instruments

25th January 2011

Bausch and Lomb has announced the launch of a number of new single-use vitreoretinal instruments for use in eye surgery.

Among the new additions to the product range is a passive aspiration handpiece, which assists in the management of fluid during intraocular procedures.

It features an attached soft silicone tip cannula that allows clinicians to conduct procedures while minimising associated trauma.

Other new products include a membrane pick with an angled head and non-glare finish, an MVR knife and a pair of bipolar pencils with two-pin connections and a choice of tapered or blunt tips.

A number of the new offerings are being released in 23 and 25-gauge variants for use in different types of procedure.

They join products such as endgripping forceps and asymmetrical peeling forceps as part of Bausch and Lomb's single-use vitreoretinal portfolio.

Earlier this month, the company released a new iPhone application to provide information on cataracts, as part of its promotional initiatives for the accommodating intraocular lens Crystalens.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800363164-ADNFCR
