Bausch and Lomb launches UltraVision CLPL’s KeraSoft lenses in US

11th January 2012

Bausch and Lomb has introduced UltraVision CLPL's KeraSoft IC silicone hydrogel contact lenses in the US for the first time.

The lenses, which are already widely available in the UK, have been made available through Bausch and Lomb thanks to a global licensing arrangement signed in January last year.

KeraSoft IC lenses are designed to fit irregular corneas resulting from keratoconus, laser refractive surgery, pellucid marginal degeneration and other complex corneal irregularities.

The patented products have been honoured with the Queen's Award for Enterprise and Innovation in Britain and will now be available to a wider market of international patients.

David Bland, director of Bausch and Lomb's global GP and custom soft lens business, said: "Once eye care professionals have the opportunity to learn more about KeraSoft IC lenses and participate in training to fit the lenses, we expect KeraSoft IC lenses to become an excellent option."

The global rollout of KeraSoft commenced last year and will continue to be executed in stages.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801261679-ADNFCR
