Bausch and Lomb names new member of board of directors

Bausch and Lomb has announced the appointment of Maria Teresa Hilado has been elected as the newest member of its board of directors.

Ms Hilado is the current senior vice-president of finance and treasurer of PepsiCo, one of the world's largest food and beverage companies, where she manages its capital markets, cash management, international treasury, pension investments and insurance functions.

She will bring to her new role more than two decades of finance, treasury and strategic experience in large global public corporations spanning a variety of industries, including healthcare, having served as treasurer of Schering-Plough between 2008 and 2009.

Fred Hassan, chairman of Bausch and Lomb, said: "Tessa Hilado is a brilliant finance leader with broad-based experience in large global healthcare and consumer products companies. Bausch and Lomb, its customers and shareholders will benefit from Tessa's industry, finance and treasury experience."

This comes after the firm appointed Alex Kelly from Merck Sharp and Dohme as its new vice-president for investor relations earlier this month.
