Baxter and JW Holdings agree nutrition product alliance

1st August 2013

Baxter and JW Holdings have entered into a global development and commercialisation collaboration for omega 3 parenteral nutrition products.

The ten-year alliance will see the companies working together on the international sales of nutritional products that contain a novel formulation of omega 3 lipids, with Baxter gaining exclusive rights to co-develop and distribute the products globally, with the exception of South Korea.

JW Holdings will be responsible for manufacturing the products at its Dangjin facility, while Baxter has also specified rights to certain additional nutritional products that JW Holdings may develop or produce in the future.

This alliance will complement Baxter's leading global parenteral nutrition portfolio.

Robert Davis, president of Baxter's medical products business, said: "Baxter's collaboration with JW Holdings allows us to complement our existing parenteral nutrition product portfolio and provide clinicians with additional options to meet patients' unique nutritional needs."

According to its financial report for the first half of 2013, Baxter experienced a two percent year-on-year increase in sales during the January-to-June period.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801619515-ADNFCR
