Baxter appoints new international president
Baxter has announced that Dr Ludwig Hantson is to become the company’s new president of international operations and corporate vice-president next month.
Dr Hantson will take up his new role on May 3rd 2010 in a move which Baxter hopes will allow the company to expand the scope and strength of its regional operations.
The executive has accrued experience of senior management at a number of major healthcare companies and most recently spent nine years at Novartis, where he rose to the position of chief executive officer for pharmaceuticals in North America.
Robert Parkinson, chairman and chief executive officer at Baxter, said this expertise will make Dr Hantson a “tremendous asset” to the company as it looks to execute its plans for expansion.
He added: “Our global presence and the strength of our local and regional organisations position us to meet the ever increasing demand for healthcare worldwide.”
According to the company’s most recent financial report, Baxter enjoyed a successful year in 2009, recording a nine per cent increase in net income when compared to 2008.
