Baxter underlines commitment of charity and educational programmes
Baxter has announced a series of educational collaborations, safety initiatives and charity schemes it has undertaken recently.
Via its philanthropic arm the Baxter Foundation, the company has been giving back to the community with contributions of more than $64 million (38.17 million pounds), including product donation schemes and access to medicine efforts.
Meanwhile, Baxter's manufacturing facility in Marion, North Carolina has agreed to work with local government bodies to identify education and skill gaps and develop solutions such as apprenticeships and training to prepare the current and future workforce for local jobs.
Donna Meyer, human resources director at the facility, said: "This committee can help bridge the gap by advancing training and educational programmes that will benefit both employers and potential employees in our community."
Additionally, the company has won a number of safety awards for key business sites in China, the UK and Brazil, further underlining its commitment to best practice.
This comes after the firm generated worldwide sales of $15.3 billion in 2013, which was up by eight percent year on year.
