Bayer and Kidney Cancer Association announce journalist award
Bayer and the Kidney Cancer Association revealed this week that nominations have opened for the Advances in Renal Cancer Journalists’ Award 2010, which the former organisation sponsors.
The accolade, which is designed to reward outstanding coverage of the subject, honours journalistic work that addresses renal cancer in an objective, but critical fashion.
A prize of 7,500 euros (6,537 pounds) accompanies the award, which evaluates articles featured on TV, radio and film or published in the print media format.
Helmut Schafers, head of corporate communications in Europe for Bayer, said: “The objective of this award is to stimulate journalists to contribute publishing knowledge and understanding of renal carcinoma and report on current medical developments.”
Last October, Bayer announced that its sales rose by 3.5 per cent to a total of 3.936 million euros during the third quarter of 2009.
