Bayer Animal Health launches new beetle control product

13th June 2008

Bayer Animal Health has launched a new product designed to help poultry farmers eradicate darkling beetles within their farms.

The company has described the release of its Credo SC Insecticide as being a major breakthrough for the poultry farming industry, noting that the darkling beetles spread disease and consumer animal feed.

Darkling beetle populations have become resistant to some of the tried and tested insecticide products on the market but Bayer Animal Health is convinced that Credo uses innovative chemistry that the insects will be unable to survive.

The company explains that its new product has been developed so that poultry farmers can improve the health of their animals and their own profitability.

“This product will be essential for poultry houses managing darkling beetles,” said V Bruce Steward, marketing product manager for livestock insecticides at Bayer Animal Health.

Developing treatments for diseases and parasites common to various kinds of livestock is an area Bayer Animal Health counts as being among its strengths as a global operation.
