Bayer provides parasite protection for homeless dogs in North Somerset

20th October 2017

Bayer Animal Health has allied with Beaconsfield Vets in Weston-super-Mare to provide parasite protection aids for dogs and their owners living on the streets.

The company has provided a donation of Seresto collars to support a health and wellbeing day organised by the Somewhere to Go homelessness charity and North Somerset Council, which provides care for local homeless people.

These Seresto collars will provide homeless dogs with parasite treatment that can withstand challenging environments for a long period of time, as well as health treatment and advice on the day, with vets from Beaconsfield prescribing the collars.

Other wellbeing experiences offered through the event included health checks from community nurses, food bank offerings and advice from North Somerset Council's health trainers.

Hannah Watts, brand manager for Seresto at Bayer Animal Health, said: "Bayer is involved in several initiatives that help better the wellbeing of animals in the community, and we're pleased that Seresto can help contribute towards this in such a direct way."
