BCF Technology provides donation to marine life group

BCF Technology has provided a charitable donation to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) through the BCF Foundation.

The animal health company has provided 2,000 pounds to the organisation, which is dedicated to the conservation and understanding of whales, dolphins and porpoises in Irish waters.

Since the start of 2012, the IWDG has been making progress in its core function of coordinating the all-Ireland cetacean sightings and strandings schemes, which BCF's contribution will help to bolster.

Padraig Whooley, sightings coordinator at the IWDG, said: "This money will go into supporting us help people record sightings and strandings around the coastline of Ireland. Last year there were about 1,500 sightings of whales and dolphins in our waters."

This comes after the company recently provided support and sponsorship for Horse Power CPD 2012, a special European tour event designed to raise money for the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad charity group.
