BD and FlowJo announce cell analysis product collaboration

BD has announced a new commercial collaboration with the life science informatics and data analysis company FlowJo.

Under the terms of the deal, the companies will ally to integrate the functions of the FlowJo Envoy cloud-based platform and the BD FACSymphony cell analyser, which enables the simultaneous measurement of up to 50 different characteristics of a single cell.

This combination will bring together two leading flow cytometry tools and enable researchers to improve their workflow and collaborations, store their data in the cloud and share single-cell analysis data in real time.

The partnership comes in response to feedback provided to FlowJo by scientific resource laboratory leaders, who voiced considerable frustration about the difficulty of coordinating experiments using email threads and social media.

Dr Michael Stadnisky, chief executive officer of FlowJo, said: "We are excited to bring together the BD FACSymphony cell analyser and FlowJo Envoy to enable scientists to collaborate, coordinate and execute high-parameter single-cell experiments seamlessly in real-time."
