BD appoints new chief operating officer

BD has announced the appointment of veteran employee William Kozy as its new chief operating officer.

Mr Kozy, who has been with the company since 1974, will take on this title in addition to his existing responsibilities as chief operating officer of BD.

Over the last few decades, he has moved through a series of positions of escalating responsibility and has headed up the firm's Vacutainer systems, worldwide injection systems and diagnostics divisions in the past.

In the last 12 months, he has also played a key role in driving growth and innovation within the group, with responsibilities spanning all three of BD's business segments.

Vincent Forlenza, chairman, chief executive officer and president of BD, said: "Bill's new title reflects his leadership role and the additional responsibilities that he has taken on over the last year."

This comes in the same week that chief financial officer David Elkins departed the company, with BD having announced last month that a search for his permanent successor has already commenced.
