BD receives CE Mark approval for Totalys MultiProcessor

BD has announced that its automated BD Totalys MultiProcessor system has been granted European CE Mark approval.

The device is an automated instrument that integrates the pre-processing for the BD SurePath liquid-based pap test with a molecular aliquot, maintaining sample integrity while improving efficiency in the lab.

It has been designed to streamline processes while removing inefficiencies, with its automated sample preparation for cytology and molecular testing enhancing lab productivity and its random sample loading reducing hands-on time.

This news was announced at the Eurogin 2013 industry conference, where the company also gave a symposium highlighting the performance of the new BD Onclarity HPV Assay on the BD Viper LT System.

This comes after the firm announced a new collaboration with Sartorius Stedim Biotech in the field of microbiological diagnostics last month.
