BDA offers free mediation service for associateship disputes
The British Dental Association (BDA) has announced the launch of a new free mediation service for dentists seeking to resolve associateship disputes.
Available to BDA members at all levels, the service aims to help dental practices to reach mutually agreeable solutions to disputes, while avoiding the time commitment and costs associated with court cases.
Both parties taking part in the mediation must be members and show a willingness to participate in the process, which sees an independent adjudicator help to resolve the conflict, establish better communication and potentially prevent an ongoing relationship from breaking down.
Even in cases where a commercial relationship is beyond repair or has already ended, mediation can help the relevant parties to agree terms to conclude the relationship, allowing both to move on quickly and with greater certainty.
The BDA noted: "Parties are generally more satisfied with solutions that they have arrived at themselves during mediation, as opposed to what is imposed by a third-party decision-maker."
