BDA to hold charity auction at 2013 conference

The British Dental Association (BDA) has outlined its intention of raising at least 20,000 pounds with a charity auction at the 2013 British Dental Conference and Exhibition.

During the event in London, which is organised by the BDA, dental professionals will be encouraged to take part in the auction in order to raise money for the BDA Benevolent Fund and the Bridge2Aid charities.

The industry body thanked the organisations which have donated prizes for the charity drive, which include dental equipment such as an intra-oral camera and an operating light, as well as continuing professional development opportunities.

Dr Martin Fallowfield, chair of the BDA's principal executive committee, said: "I hope many colleagues will join us for this auction and help us raise money for two excellent charities that are close to the heart of the dental family."

The conference will take place at ExCeL London from April 25th to 27th and will be sponsored by companies such as Oral-B, Colgate, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson and Johnson and Philips.
