BD’s Alaris system ranked as top infusion pump for EMR integration

17th August 2016

BD has announced that its Alaris system has been ranked as the number one infusion platform for electronic medical record (EMR) integration in a new report.

Compiled by market analysts KLAS, the Alaris infusion pump platform was cited as having the most customers live with bidirectional EMR integration, which is considered an important next step for improving safety and reducing pump programming errors.

The Smart Pumps 2016: The Quest for Patient Safety report also stated that BD has the most comprehensive pump platform, with Alaris cited as the only infusion platform to achieve EMR integration with syringe pumps.

Additionally, a large number of BD customers achieved high drug library compliance thanks to reports and guidance issued by the company, with more clients using these reports to drive outcomes than any other infusion pump vendor.

Mike Garrison, vice-president and general manager of worldwide infusion solutions for BD, said: "We continue to invest in innovation to ensure our products are at the forefront of technology to help improve patient safety and care efficiency."
