Beckman Coulter announces revenue increase
Beckman Coulter achieved a revenue increase of 12.2 per cent during 2008, new figures show.
The biomedical testing equipment company revealed its full year results this week, with the 12-month period to December 31st generating $3.09 billion (2.15 billion pounds).
"Robust sales" to its clients in the clinical diagnostics sector was a reason cited by Beckman Coulter for the fourth quarter’s revenue, while it also announced a rise in operating income – up by 9.6 per cent to $298.6 million – during 2008.
"Our clinical diagnostics business continued its above-market growth demonstrating the strength of our portfolio," remarked chairman, president and chief executive officer Scott Garrett.
"We made continued gains in operating excellence, further consolidating manufacturing and distribution sites."
The annual report included recent business developments undertaken by the group, such as the introduction of three brand new chemistry-immunoassay work cells.
Last October saw Beckman Coulter sign an agreement with Adventist Health for the provision of core laboratory systems.
