Beiersdorf appoints new chief financial officer

13th May 2015

Beiersdorf has announced the appointment of Jesper Andersen as its new chief financial officer and member of the executive board.

Mr Andersen joins the company from Colgate-Palmolive, where he has worked since 1994, most recently occupying the position of chief financial officer for North America. He will join Beiersdorf on May 18th 2015 and immediately take up his role on the board.

Following an introductory phase, Mr Andersen will then gradually assume responsibility for the finance division from Ulrich Schmidt, with effect as of September 1st. Mr Schmidt will be retiring at the end of the company's annual general meeting in March 2016.

The firm paid tribute to the outgoing Mr Schmidt for his various contributions to Beiersdorf's success for more than 30 years.

Stefan Heidenreich, chief executive officer of Beiersdorf, said: "We are pleased that Jesper Andersen will be joining our management team. His experience in finance on three different continents will play a significant role in continuing to drive our company forward."

This comes after the firm met its financial goals during the first quarter of 2015, with nominal sales growth of 6.9 percent and organic growth of 0.7 percent.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801787313-ADNFCR
