Beiersdorf highlights strong performance in 2013 to date
Beiersdorf has announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2013, during which it achieved year-on-year organic sales growth of 7.3 percent.
The company's sales total for the three quarters came to 4.67 billion euros (3.92 billion pounds), up by 2.4 percent in nominal terms, while its operating result and consolidated profit levels also rose.
Significant growth was seen for key brands such as Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie, while the UK was highlighted as a region that generated particularly strong growth.
Beiersdorf credited its recent performance to its clear, disciplined brand strategy and successful innovations and is now aiming for group sales growth of six to seven percent for the full year.
Stefan Heidenreich, chief executive officer of Beiersdorf, said: "Our market share has increased in many countries, both in emerging markets and for the first time in Europe, where we saw a clear rise in the third quarter."
This comes after the firm revamped its online presence last month with a redesigned and modernised version of its corporate website, which will be rolled out worldwide over the coming year.
