Beiersdorf invests in manufacturing capacity
Beiersdorf has announced investment of ten million euros to double the manufacturing capacity at one of its facilities.
As such, the company’s site at Bangplee in Thailand is now able to produce some 31,000 tonnes of Nivea products per year.
Peter Kleinschmidt, a member of Beiersdorf’s executive board, said that the capacity expansion at the cosmetics facility, which will also allow for future development as and when it becomes necessary, is a response to a growing demand for care products.
He noted the company’s “encouraging performance” in recent years continued during the first few months of 2009.
“We are expecting to enhance our market position in a focused manner as part of our global business strategy,” Mr Kleinschmidt concluded.
In recent weeks, Beiersdorf launched its international internship programme for students – CLOSE2B.
The deadline for applications for the scheme, which the firm says is dedicated to “excellent students with outstanding professional and personal qualities”, is July 27th.
