Beiersdorf reports strong growth for 2016
Beiersdorf has announced its financial results for 2016, during which it was able to maintain its recent sustainable and profitable growth trajectory.
For the full year, the company achieved a sales total of 6.75 billion euros (5.8 billion pounds), representing a year-on-year increase of one percent in nominal terms, or 3.2 percent in terms of organic sales improvement.
The company's consumer and tesa business segments both achieved strong organic sales growth during the year, despite challenging political and economic conditions in many countries and a tightly competitive market.
In the fourth quarter of the year, the firm was able to maintain the continuous improvement it generated throughout the year, with key brands such as Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie all making positive contributions.
Stefan Heidenreich, chief executive officer of Beiersdorf, said: "The sales increases and market shares achieved are proof of our high competitiveness, the strengths of our business model and the attractiveness of our products and innovations."
