Beiersdorf’s Nivea voted Bulgaria’s favourite brand

30th March 2009

Beiersdorf’s Nivea brand is one of the most popular among consumers in Bulgaria, according to one recent accolade.

The country’s economic chamber and the German-Bulgarian industrial and trade chamber carried out an annual ranking list called Lovemarks, which gives customers the chance to identify which products they respect and like.

Out of 3,254 votes, Nivea came top of the chart with 1,384 participants selecting this brand as their favourite.

Vichy came second with 1,002 nominations, followed by L’Oreal which received 865 votes.

The award was presented to managing director of Beiersdorf Bulgaria Bedros Kalfayan at a ceremony that was held this month.

Earlier this month, the company released its 2008 financial results, revealing its group sales growth was 7.5 per cent.

Chairman of the firm’s executive board Thomas B Quaas said the success was due to focussing on skin and beauty care by selling equity interests and restructuring its consumer supply chain.

He added the positive results had also been down to the double-digit growth of its Nivea brand.
