Binding Site introduces new cerebrospinal fluid assays
Binding Site has announced the launch of a number of new additions to its Optilite assay menu.
The range has been expanded to include a new range of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) assays, which will make it easier for researchers to accurately determine levels of IgG, IgA, IgM and albumin in CSF and paired CSF/serum samples.
Measurement of serum and CSF concentrations of these substances is often carried out to determine the extent of blood/CSF barrier dysfunction or local synthesis of immunoglobulin within the central nervous system.
The company said: "Assessment of barrier function, intrathecal synthesis and other variable CSF analytes can be useful in the diagnosis of a variety of central nervous system disorders."
Binding Site's Optilite range of assays are optimised to help researchers consolidate their special protein workload on to a single dedicated system.
Key advantages include their wide measurement ranges, advanced antigen excess protection and the fact they are calibrated to be up to date with the latest international standards.
