Bio-Rad analyser provides ‘efficient and convenient’ glucose control indicator

16th November 2007

Bio-Rad Laboratories has launched an analyser for measuring A1C, a well-established indicator of diabetic patients’ glucose control.

Offering healthcare professionals "greater efficiency and convenience", the multinational manufacturer’s "in2it" product is intended to provide laboratory-accurate A1C test results while the patient waits.

John Goetz, Bio-Rad’s vice-president, said the "in2it" has been designed for simplicity, convenience, and speed in near-patient testing with its "small, portable, and fully-automated" structure delivering results from a patient sample in minutes.

"The release of the in2it A1C analyser is another example of Bio-Rad’s continued commitment to provide the tools that help physicians, laboratories, and healthcare professionals provide better patient care to those affected by diabetes," observed Mr Goetz.

Bio-Rad Laboratories produces and distributes a broad range of products for the life science research and clinical diagnostics markets.

Headquartered in California, the firm serves more than 85,000 research and industry customers worldwide and employs over 6,300 people globally.

Earlier this month the company announced the launch of its rapid MRSA screening test into the US market.

A chromogenic medium used for the rapid screening of the infection, the MRSASelect test, currently the market leader in Canada, is said to identify MRSA carriers in 24 hours.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18357986-ADNFCR
