Bio Rad increases revenues

29th February 2008

Bio Rad Laboratories has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ending December 31st 2007.

The life science research and clinical diagnostics products manufacturer stated that its fourth quarter revenues increased by 34 per cent to USD 459.7 million (GBP 231.5 million).

According to the company, this increase can be attributed to growth across its life sciences and clinical diagnostics businesses, as well as the introduction of DiaMed products to its portfolio.

Norman Schwartz, president and chief executive officer at the firm, said: "Operationally, 2007 was another year of progress for Bio Rad and one of investment as we welcomed DiaMed Holding AG into our organisation."

This year the company intends exploring new opportunities to further develop the business and "improve operational efficiencies", he added.

Earlier this month, the company announced that it had launched the "first and only" fully-automated, random access multiplex test system for autoimmune systemic vasculities testing.
