Biogen appoints new research and early development head
Biogen has announced the appointment of Anirvan Ghosh to head up its research and early development unit.
Mr Ghosh has been named as the company's senior vice-president for research and early development, leading the organisation in the discovery and development of drug candidates from idea through to proof of concept.
He will begin his service at Biogen in April, joining the company from E-Scape Bio, where he most recently served as chief scientific officer, heading discovery efforts for Alzheimer's disease and neurodegenerative disorders.
Prior to this, he was the the vice-president and global head of neuroscience discovery and biomarkers at Roche, while he has also spent time as a professor within the neuroscience faculties of Johns Hopkins University and the University of California, San Diego.
Dr Michael Ehlers, executive vice-president and head of research and development at Biogen, said: "After an extensive global search, we have found an inspired leader to guide an exceptional research and early development team."
