Biogen Idec introduces new services for MS ActiveSource

28th July 2011

Biogen Idec has expanded its MS ActiveSource service for multiple sclerosis (MS) patients with new support programmes and resources.

The online portal is introducing a patient-to-patient networking community called ActiveVoices, which will make it easier for those affected by the condition to interact and offers support to each other.

Other new MS ActiveSource offerings include the financial assistance tool ActiveAccess, health coaching programme ActiveSupport and the lifestyle guidance database ActiveWellness.

Brian Prunier, senior director of patient services at Biogen Idec, said the new and improved version of the service will allow patients to benefit from tailored support round the clock.

He added that it is "aimed at being the gold standard resource for people living with MS".

Earlier this week, the company reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2011, during which it generated a revenue figure of $1.2 billion (730.6 million pounds), a total that was broadly level with the same period last year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800637006-ADNFCR
