Biogen names new chief HR officer
Biogen has announced the appointment of Dr Ginger Gregory as its new executive vice-president and chief human resources (HR) officer, effective as of July 17th.
Ms Gregory joins the company from Shire Pharmaceuticals, where she also occupied the chief HR officer role. She brings more than 20 years of HR experience to Biogen, having also previously worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novo Nordisk and Novartis.
During her time at Shire, she helped to lead the integration of several acquired companies, including Baxalta, while consolidating multiple business units into a single organisation and overhauling the company's HR systems on a global basis.
At Biogen, Ms Gregory will be tasked with leading the company's global HR function and organisational strategy, while also serving as a member of the company's executive committee.
Michel Vounatsos, chief executive officer of Biogen, said: "It is exciting to have an HR leader of Ginger's calibre join us at this time. Her extensive experience in our industry makes her especially attuned to the particular organisational and cultural priorities of a company like Biogen."
