Biogen names new chief information officer
Biogen has announced the appointment of Mark Hernon as senior vice-president and chief information officer, effective as of December 4th.
Mr Hernon brings more than 30 years of experience in IT and strategic leadership to Biogen, joining the company from Takeda, where he most recently served as global head of research and development site strategy and operations.
Prior to his role with Takeda, he spent 12 years with Millennium Pharmaceuticals as chief information officer and vice-president for operations, playing a key role in managing the group's transition through the acquisition by Takeda.
At Biogen, he will lead the global information technology organisation and be responsible for accelerating and supporting its operations through the delivery of innovative technology capabilities, systems and tools.
Susan Alexander, Biogen's executive vice-president, chief of legal and corporate services and secretary, said: "His experience and leadership, together with our existing excellent Biogen IT organisation, will allow Biogen to continue creating and harnessing data and information to pioneer new developments in neuroscience."
