Biogen names new senior vice-president of corporate affairs
Biogen has announced the appointment of Catherine Steele as its new senior vice-president of corporate affairs.
Ms Steele joins the company from Novartis, where she served as its global head of communications and patient relations, with responsibility for corporate reputation management and driving external, internal and executive communication strategies, as well as for leading the company's social media and patient relations activities.
She brings more than 25 years of public affairs experience to Biogen, having commenced her career in the biopharmaceutical industry at Roche, where she spent more than a decade in global communications and policy leadership roles.
In her new position at Biogen, Ms Steele will lead the company's corporate, product and internal communications, as well as government affairs and patient advocacy efforts.
Michel Vounatsos, chief executive officer of Biogen, said: "Catherine will play a crucial role in helping align our business with key public and patient audiences and establish Biogen with new stakeholders globally."
This follows the appointment of Ginger Gregory as the company's new executive vice-president and chief HR officer earlier this month. Ms Steele and Ms Gregory will both take up their posts on July 17th.
