Biohit expands acetaldehyde detection services
Biohit has announced that it will be expanding its range of acetaldehyde detection products and services to meet the needs of a wider variety of clients.
Building on its existing expertise in developing diagnostic systems for digestive tract conditions, the company will be producing assays for measuring quantities of the carcinogenic substance in consumable goods.
This will encompass a service whereby companies can send samples to Biohit for analysis at its laboratories.
In addition, the life science firm will be making its BioFood technology – which is designed to reduce or remove the acetaldehyde content in foodstuffs and drinks – commercially available.
The company states that the move will help research institutions, government regulators and consumers to combat the health risk posed by acetaldehyde, which has been classified by the World Health Organization as a class 1 carcinogen.
Earlier this month, Biohit announced that it has rearranged the personnel in its diagnostics management team in order to make the business more efficient.
