Biohit experiences sales growth despite recession
Biohit has released its financial results for the full year of 2009, revealing that total net sales rose by one per cent, compared to 2008.
Additionally, its consolidated net sales grew during the last quarter, rising by six per cent year-on-year, something the group attributes to higher demand for liquid handling products and diagnostic test kits.
Overall, the company’s profit before taxes stood at 700,000 euros (606,720 pounds) for the final three months of last year.
Growth centred on sales of test kits, the firm revealed, which improved by 34 per cent on 2008 figures.
“In 2010, the company expects to see a positive trend in its net sales and slightly greater growth than in the previous year,” the organisation stated.
Last month, Biohit announced that Yrjo Wichmann has been appointed as director of its diagnostic business segment.
He took up his new role on February 1st.
