Biohit reports growth in first half of 2010

9th August 2010

Biohit has published its financial report for the first half of the current fiscal year, during which it saw a year-on-year increase in sales.

The science company’s net sales between January and June 2010 advanced by 13.7 per cent compared to the corresponding period of 2009 to 19.3 million euros (16 million pounds), ahead of expectations.

According to president and chief executive officer Jussi Heinio, the majority of these sales were accounted for by liquid handling products such as pipettes, while growth was also recorded by the diagnostics division.

Mr Heinio expressed confidence that Biohit’s performance for the remainder of the year will benefit from improvements in global economic conditions.

He added: “We have made considerable outlays on expanding our sales and marketing organisation.”

Mr Heinio has served as president and chief executive officer of Biohit since June 2010, when he was appointed as a replacement for company founder Professor Osmo Suovaniemi.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800017039-ADNFCR
