Biolitec demonstrates new laser technology at Medica 2012
Biolitec has presented a wide variety of laser systems and application accessories at this week's Medica 2012 event, the world's largest medical technology trade fair.
The company attended the show in Dusseldorf to showcase products such as the revolutionary laser system Hola (Hysteroscopic Outpatient Laser Applications), which is used for the treatment of myomas in gynaecology.
Debuting this year, the device is able to close off the feeding artery using a radial emitting laser fibre, preventing damage to the endometrium and eliminating the need for other particles or other foreign substances, making the process as painless as possible.
It was originally introduced to industry professionals at the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics world congress in Rome last month.
Additionally, Biolitec used Medica as an opportunity to demonstrate its new Laserhaemorrhoidoplastie (LHP) system, which is able to treat high-grade haemorrhoids by reducing nodal dilatations from within.
The company also talked attendees through the benefits of the ELVeS laser device, a minimally invasive solution for treating varicose veins that reduces postoperative discomfort to a bare minimum.
