BioMerieux to launch 3 platforms

BioMerieux is set to unveil its new suite of full microbiology laboratory automation solutions at an industry meeting next week.

The vitro-diagnostics firm will showcase three platforms at the 108th general meeting of the American Society for Microbiology in Boston which begins on Sunday (June 1st).

Stephane Bancel, the firm’s chief executive officer, said: "Driving full microbiology lab automation is bioMerieux’s number one priority, recognising the promise it brings to this industry as the role of the microbiologist becomes increasingly important – for patient care and food safety."

The firm will also host a user-group meeting to highlight the latest data and trends regarding antibiotic stewardship, healthcare-associated infections and the role of laboratories in reducing errors.

BioMerieux claims to have been a world leader in its field for over 45 years, it is present in more than 150 countries through 387 subsidiaries. In 2007, its revenues reached 1,063 billion euros.
