Biotronik launches new Ilivia cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices
Biotronik has announced the launch of its advanced new Ilivia range of cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices (CRT-Ds).
The new devices have been specifically calibrated to address the 30 to 40 percent non-response rate to current CRT options, without causing disproportionate additional battery drain.
This has been achieved using energy-efficient MultiPole Pacing technology for sequential or simultaneous pacing in the left ventricle, which can be individually programmed for an increased response rate.
A diverse portfolio of left ventricular leads will be available to account for different patient anatomies and target veins, including a newly-launched Sentus QP lead with alternative pole-spacing for short to medium veins.
Additionally, the Ilivia CRT-Ds offer ProMRI technology and are equipped with the award-winning MRI AutoDetect feature, meaning they can automatically recognise an MRI environment and switch themselves in and out of MRI mode.
Manuel Ortega, senior vice-president at Biotronik, said: "With a complete and innovative CRT solution, we want to empower physicians to offer a superior solution for heart patients that covers the entire duration of therapy and post-implantation care."
