Biotronik launches new Passeo-35 PTA balloon variants

7th October 2013

Biotronik has expanded its range of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTW) balloons with new additions to its Passeo-35 portfolio.

The new Passeo-35 HP 0.035-inch high-pressure PTA balloon is designed to treat vessel segments that require high-pressure dilatation to efface resistant and often fibrotic stenoses.

Unlike existing PTA balloon treatment options, which can have compromised flexibility, a bulky profile or display instability at higher pressures, the new device uses a conformable yet durable balloon material to deliver high-rated burst pressures of up to 27 atmospheres with uncompromised flexibility.

Additionally, the standard Passeo-35 0.035-inch OTW PTA balloon is now also available in lengths of up to 200mm.

Dr Alexander Uhl, Biotronik's marketing vice-president for vascular intervention, said: "These latest additions to our unique peripheral intervention portfolio underline Biotronik's commitment to delivering dedicated, innovative devices in line with the needs and expectations of interventional operators."

This comes after Biotronik announced the European market launch of its AlCath Flutter Gold ablation catheter last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801646617-ADNFCR
