Biotronik launches new thrombus aspiration catheter

14th November 2012

Biotronik has announced the launch of the 3Flow Aspiration Catheter, the newest addition to its broad coronary vascular intervention portfolio.

Specifically designed to facilitate quick and accurate thrombus aspiration, the device incorporates various unique attributes, including one of the market's largest extraction lumens and locking syringes.

It allows for the extraction of larger thrombotic particles and a longer aspiration time, while its hydrophilic distal coating and smooth tip design ensure excellent deliverability and optimal kink resistance.

Thrombus aspiration is applicable in a larger majority of patients with myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation and has been shown to significantly improve clinical outcomes.

Alain Aimonetti, vice-president for sales and business development at Biotronik's vascular intervention division, said: "We are proud of the results of the 3Flow Catheter. Its features make the 3Flow Catheter a very unique product that eases thrombus aspiration."

Last week, the company reported positive data from a study of its AlCath Gold ablation catheter, demonstrating the benefits it can provide to atrial fibrillation patients.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801487837-ADNFCR
