Biotronik marks 30th anniversary of charity partner the HBI Foundation
Biotronik has reaffirmed its commitment to its charity partner the Heartbeat International (HBI) Foundation, as the organisation celebrates its 30th anniversary.
The Florida-based global non-profit foundation has been influential in saving the lives of people with life-threatening heart conditions for a number of decades by providing heart devices to those who cannot afford them.
To commemorate its partnership with the charity, Biotronik has made a special donation of more than 60 pacemakers and over 90 implantable cardioverter defibrillators to the foundation.
It has donated 5,600 life-saving devices during its alliance with HBI, with which it has been working since 2010.
Wolf Ruhnke, vice-president of Biotronik, said: "As a company known for our dedication to patient health, we are proud to give patients in need access to life-saving, high-quality care in partnership with this groundbreaking charitable organisation."
Last month, the firm received European CE Mark approval for its Zero-Gravity Suspended Radiation Protection System, developed in collaboration with CFI Medical.
