Biotronik trial highlights benefits of Home Monitoring

13th September 2010

Biotronik has highlighted data from a recent study which showcases the healthcare benefits of its Home Monitoring technology.

Results from the landmark Trust study, which was conducted among 1,450 patients, have shown that monitoring sufferers using Biotronik's cardiac rhythm management can assist in the early detection of symptomatic and asymptomatic arrhythmias.

It was also shown that Home Monitoring was linked to an increase in the time between routine in-office follow-ups, bringing convenience benefits to patients and physicians alike.

According to the manufacturer, this makes Home Monitoring the only European CE Mark-accredited system to offer these benefits.

Kevin Mitchell, Biotronik's vice-president of clinical studies, said: "Biotronik will continue to sponsor rigorous and scientifically valid clinical trials that can help our physician partners to better care for their patients."

Last month, Biotronik announced that its Dreams stent technology has been successfully implanted in a patient for the first time, as part of the Biosolve-I clinical study.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800062234-ADNFCR
