Biotronik unveils new pacemaker series

6th December 2010

Biotronik has received European approval for its Estella and Effecta pacemaker series, which feature eight new models.

The company said the new ranges have been added to the existing series of premium Evia devices to create "one of the most comprehensive bradycardia portfolios" currently available.

Estella pacemakers are equipped with the firm's Home Monitoring system and advanced Vp Suppression algorithm to minimise ventricular pacing.

Biotronik said the Effecta devices have been fitted with energy efficiency controls to reduce electrical consumption by 50 percent, as well as prolonging the longevity of the pacemakers.

"Never before has another company been able to offer such a broad range of pacemaker systems that give patients safe access to MRI scanning procedures," commented Marlou Janssen, the company's global vice-president of marketing and sales.

Last month, Biotronik announced the international launch of its Pulsar-18 stent for the treatment of lesions in the superficial femoral and infrapopliteal arteries.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800275087-ADNFCR
