BMG Labtech joins SiLA

19th August 2009

BMG Labtech has joined the Standardisation in Lab Automation (SiLA) consortium, it announced today.

The firm, which offers a variety of microplate readers, explained that it carried out the move in an attempt to foster quick and easy integration of its product line into a range of different robotic platforms.

SiLA extended a welcome to BMG Labtech earlier this month, stating that it is pleased to have the company as one of its supporting members.

Other organisations that have registered their backing for SiLA in recent weeks include RTS Group and Corning Life Sciences Europe.

Launched in June 2008, SiLA is managed by Toolpoint and aims to develop a new interface standard to allow for the swift integration of lab automation systems.

The consortium outlines a number of benefits associated with using SiLA standardisation, including reduced efforts during the replacement of integrated devices and faster access to innovative new technologies.ADNFCR-1050-ID-19320503-ADNFCR
