BMI Healthcare to conduct blood pressure tests in UK shopping centres

25th February 2011

BMI Healthcare is to launch a campaign of free blood pressure and cholesterol testing services over the coming days.

Between February 25th and March 5th 2011, the private hospital group will be offering the health checkups at a number of shopping centres across the UK, including locations in Glasgow, Darlington and Ilford.

The scheme is being conducted to coincide with the British Heart Foundation's National Heart Month initiative, which is designed to raise awareness of potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

It also forms part of BMI Healthcare's Inspect Your Health! programme, which commenced in November 2010 and will continue until this October.

Media personality Dr Hilary Jones, who assists in conducting health checks for BMI Healthcare, said: "It's fantastic that BMI hospitals are volunteering its staff to provide this important free service to their local businesses and communities."

Last month, the organisation published data from a study which showed that the recession has had a greater impact on UK women's health than men's.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800428026-ADNFCR
