BMJ Group appoints new evidence-based journal editors

9th August 2010

BMJ Group has announced the appointment of new editors for two of its evidence-based medical journals.

Dr Alison Twycross has taken up the role for Evidence-Based Nursing as of this month, while Dr Richard Saitz assumes similar responsibilities for Evidence-Based Medicine.

Both newly-appointed editors join the BMJ Group publications with significant healthcare sector experience, with Dr Twycross recognised as a widely-published expert in children’s pain management and child health.

She is currently a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s wider reference group for the review of pre-registration nurse education, as well as acting as an advisor to the Royal College of Nursing.

Dr Saitz, meanwhile, is a primary care physician and researcher who holds the position of professor of medicine and epidemiology at Boston University Medical Center.

Last month, BMJ Group published research which highlighted the growing inequality in mortality rates between the UK’s richest and poorest residents.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800017252-ADNFCR
