Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly launch diabetes awareness game

24th May 2013

Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly have announced the launch of a new diabetes educational digital game called Complications Combat.

Available for desktop and iPad users, the game instructs players to click on or swipe symbols representing the healthy steps patients can take to combat type 2 diabetes, while avoiding the various complications associated with the disease.

The difficulty of the game is designed to give users an impression of how challenging it can be for physicians and patients to keep all of the lifestyle choices and symptoms of this disease into consideration at the same time.

Boehringer Ingelheim's Arnd Prilipp said: "Players are tasked with simultaneously saving the healthy lifestyle items whilst combating the many complications – and it is not easy."

It comes as part of a wide-ranging diabetes alliance between Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly that was originally agreed in January 2011.

This collaboration has led to the development of diabetes therapies such as Trajenta, which was approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in Europe in August 2011.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801590069-ADNFCR
